什么是Sight Words？答曰：常见词、高频词 Sight Words 顾名思义，就是一入视觉就立即能反应的词汇大家都知道“一见钟情”这个汉语成语，而Sight Words 可理解为“一见知意”的词汇，换言之，就是你一看到这个单词，就知道它的意思。
Sight Words是儿童阅读初期的常用词，也叫高频词，约有220个它是由美国学者Dolch 针对英语儿童读物做了系统分析和统计后整理出来的最常使用的词这些词在英语教科书，图书，报章，杂志中的出现率为60-85%。
这部分词汇在北美的学校教育中是小学三年级必须要完成的内容，而这些确是中国的英语教学中缺失的部分。全字教学的提倡者认为让学生认得大量的Sight word，有助于阅读的学习。
