1. I learn new words by making word cards.考查重点:by + doing 表示“通过做...;以...方式”;短语:make word cards 表示“制作词卡”;word + cards 为名词修饰名词结构,word为修饰词,不加复数。

4. How about reading aloud to practice spoken English?考查“...如何/怎么样”使用 How/What about sth./doing? 大声朗读的目的是提升口语,所以用不定式to do 表示目的;短语:read aloud “大声朗读”;spoken English “英语口语”。

7. The teacher spoke English so quickly that I couldn’t understand her most of the time.考查说英语使用speak,speak-spoke-spoken; 虽然句子中没有明显的 “如此...以至于...”,但前后句子的关系可使用so...that...句型;most of the time “大部分时间”。
8. If you want to learn English well, you shouldn’t be afraid to ask questions or make mistakes.考查:be afraid of sth./doing = be afraid to do sth. 害怕做...; I’m afraid that + 句子;表示 “恐怕...”;【参考单元基础知识点第11点】此句为否定句,所以不用and连接两个动词短语,而是用or。
9. I find (that) listening to something interesting is the secret to language learning.考查动名词作主语listening...;其次考查形容词修饰不定代词
something/anything/nobody...需要置于其后;最后考查secret的搭配介词,the secret of sth./doing = the secret to sth./doing “...的秘诀/秘密” 其中to为介词。
10. There is no need to know every word. You can also understand its meaning by listening to key words.
复习运用本单元重点 by + doing “通过做...”; There/It is no need to do sth. 做...没有必要;也可以译为:You don’t need to know...; understand也可以换成get;词组:key words“关键词”;key sentences“关键句”。
11. I want to learn more words and grammar so that I can have a better understanding of English movies.
考查:so that “以便于,目的是” have a better understanding of sth.“更好理解...”= better understand sth. = understand sth. better,只是词性不同而已,写作的时候运用比较新颖。
12. On the way home, Brian thought of three good ways to learn English.考查单词way的用法:【参考单元基础知识点第5点】①表示“路,道路” on the way to sp. 表示“在去...的路上”;与home/there/here连用时,省to;②表示方式方法;the way to do sth. = the way of doing sth. 做...的方式/方法; 短语:think of 表示“想出,想到” = come up with.
13. Jimmy cant find a partner to practice English with.考查不定式to do作定语时,不定式后的动词与其修饰的名词之间介词的用法;可直接将名词置于to do之后,可判断是否需要介词;如:I need some paper to write on. write on the paper 在纸上写字;而不是write paper所以需要介词on; She gave me a spoon to eat with. “eat with a spoon用勺子吃饭,而不是eat a spoon吃勺子;所以需要介词with”.
14. Everyone is born with the ability to learn, but whether or not he can learn well depends on his learning habits.
考查短语:be born with sth. 天生具有...;be born in... 出生于/在...【参考单元基础知识点第16点】the ability to do sth. 做...的能力;whether or not表示“是否...”;depend on“依靠,取决于”;learning habits “学习习惯” 此句为主语从句,句子作主语,谓语用单数,故depend需要加s.
15. Research shows that successful learners have some good habits in common.考查短语:have...in common 有...共同之处;have后可接名词或代词,如:a
lot/little/something/nothing...; 其次考查research表示“研究,调查”可作名词/动词;作名词时,多用作不可数名词;study作名词,表示“研究”常用作可数名词。
16. As a nurse, you should be patient with patients.考查单词patient,作形容词,表示 “有耐心的” be patient with... “对...有耐心”;作名词表示 “病人”;patience 作名词 “耐心”。
【参考单元基础知识点第7点】17. Good learners often connect what they need to learn with something interesting.考查短语:connect...with... 把...与...连接/联系起来;connect...to...把...连接到...上;something interesting “有趣的东西”;形容词修饰不定代词,需要后置。
18. Bell invented the telephone by trying many times and learning from mistakes.运用本单元重点:by+doing“通过做...”;learn from... 从...中学习/向...学习;learn from our parents 向父母学习。

21. The more careful you are, the fewer mistakes you will make.考查比较级的用法之一:the + 比较级,the + 比较级;表示“越...越...”;mistake为可数名词,故使用few修饰;make mistakes “犯错误”,后接in表示在某方面犯错误。
